The recent COVID-19 crisis has shown us how essential technology has become to our fellowship. With facilities closing, we are becoming creative in the solutions for alternate meeting formats. From simple calling and texting each other to teleconference, Zoom and meeting in Cemeteries.
This is a call for anyone who would like to get involved in helping support both the website and the various technology challenges for the York Area Intergroup groups. Right now we have a single webmaster keeping up with changes. Our Alternate Webmaster recently resigned because of a schedule change.
More could be done in the way of setting up more video meetings, providing help with electronic 7th tradition collections, etc.
And what if our webmaster becomes ill? Who will pick up the slack then? Adding one or three or more people to the support team would help us ensure continuity of website services.
Who can help? Anyone with basic computer skills and reliable internet access! Our webmaster is and experienced computer trainer and can teach you how to make the site updates and keep the emails answered.
